Last month we started selling the most beautiful cashmere ponchos from a company called Casha they are the most luxurious mix of coat and jumper a kind of throw it on over anything garment. Whats new in Moi world........ well so much has been happening since the last post in July its difficult to know where to start. All three shops are now full of the beautiful Autumn/Winter collections from our favorite designers.This year we have some sumptuous coats and big jackets to see you through the chill months ahead, my personal favorite is Stripe black and white wool one from Armani featured in this weeks Grazia as on of the seasons best. We also have glitzy socks for inside your boots and some colourful gloves and scarves that make great prezzies. Our Jean collection this year has some really good fitting denim from Paige and Armani and ultra soft skinny cords. A wardrobe essential for this season is a long sleeve super soft t-shirt from Day Birger and a chunky knit from Hoss. These collections are being showcased at our launch evening on Thursday this week in Leamington and were on the catwalk at a celebrity fashion show in the Cotswolds earlier in the month. The next 3 months will see a host of events and promotions at all of our shops.... watch out for the October Jean Event!!

Market Research

Mrs Moi and I are off to Dubai for a spot of market research and to sort out the location for Moi 4, (being the shopping capital of the world seems like a good place to start). Oh and of course we will be taking Venus and Serena for a little light entertainment and bag carrying. Unfortunately the temperature will reach 30 degrees so we will have to keep the fluids up if we are to survive, it will be hell. Will report back, meanwhile if you want an Odd Molly Jacket, pop in and see Mrs Spa who will obviously be lost and lonely without us.

My head hurts

Last night was the official launch of Moi Leamington Spa, the bubbles flowed and the cameras clicked. The Mayor and his wife cut the ribbon and our friends came from near and far, a great night was had by all. Thank you Mrs Spa for the chocolate and pain killers.

Wardrobe clear out time!

Its that time of year when you cant get the doors closed and items drift from the hangers and mingle with the boots and shoes at the bottom its....Wardrobe clear out time!! Now I believe that if I sort out my wardrobe then the muddle that is my life will instantly be transformed into a colour coordinated, organised regime. I will be suddenly become one of these well groomed together sorts. Shallow Moi! You know the ones they always have a small pair of nail scissors and just the right shade of lipstick . (The only I time have have nail scissors in my handbag is when passing through the XRay machines at Heathrow). So back to the wardrobe, what to keep to see me into spring and what to discard as soooo yesterday.
Following advice from the people who know, I will be keeping the skinny jeans and the chunky knit to team up with my little silk dress, until the weather bucks its ideas up. I will hang on to every waistcoat and white shirt of which I have many to wear with my new Armani jeans. Also anything that has a stripe and looks vaguely nautical. The rest will then join the boxes in the loft until the ceiling falls in.

Snow again!!!!

Pulling back the curtains this morning, how many of you were as surprised as me to see snow!!!! My first thoughts - hang on its not a Wednesday (usual snow day) and its the 1st February- thought it was only meant to snow in January!!!
I slipped and skidded to work, but then.........opened the doors to a lovely warm boutique.
The warm fresh colours of Day Birger, Hoss, Odd Molly, Avoca, Michael Stars and not forgetting 7 for all mankind jeans brought a smile to my cold face and now the snow(and my bed!) seems a long long way away.

Oh to be a bloke!!

I cant make all these decisions any more so I have decided along with Mrs Mois' back to basics we should have a 'dress me' service, if it could be done whilst asleep even better. You see if you a bloke its all much more straight forward... there are no seasons its either hot or its f..... freezing, hence coat or no coat debate. But for girls well, spring, summer, etc now there is Party and Cruise on top of the heels or no heels or the with or without shoulder pads debate. Blokes don't worry if this years black is charcoal or whether sequins are still in!!!! (its OK they are until April). Male rule... if it fits and its comfortable then its trendy enough for me. Female rule..... does it make any part of me look, fat, old or out of date, that's before we have even considered is it this years colour, style and shape . So don't let anyone tell you its easy shopping its not it takes hours and a lot of skill and patience. That's why some of us go missing for days, and at Moi we have coffee, tissues, soothing music and a therapist.

Missing Person Found!

Good news - Claire from the Leamington Spa shop has been found!! She is currently unpacking the beautiful new clothes from Hoss Intropia and with more of the collection due this week, she is very glad to be found and unharmed!!

Missing Persons

Concerns increased tonight with regard to the whereabouts of Mrs Moi, EJ and Mrs Spa. The Shop Girls Diary has been silent for four days and; as yet; a ransom request has not been received but we are sure the perpetrators will be released unharmed and the recent silence will be very short lived. Actually they have been in "The Smoke" buying for Autumn and Winter 2010. How time flies in the "rag" trade !

Wardrobes - Minimum Requirements

My day did not start well. No sooner had I opened the doors for trade when a very smart gentleman entered the store looking for a black formal handbag ! Alas the cupboard was bare. After kicking myself several times I decided to develop a new New Years resolution which is to look after the Wardrobe basics.....

Little Black Dress, Black Patent Handbag, Tailored White Blouse,
Black Trousers, Vest Tops (various colours), Jeans (not for gardening)

.................... and this years must have, an Armani Blazer......

Thus, this Spring, and from now on, visit Moi and make sure your wardrobe inventory is where it should be.

New washing machine or new Jeans??

Well here is the problem... for the last few months my washing machine has been shrinking items of clothing. Not everything, jumpers are fine, but jeans, if fact anything with a waistband suddenly seems tight!! It does this every year around Christmas time and I know its not just me the whole family complains of uncomfortably tight clothing, (except of course teenage son who doesn't have any jeans that don't look like he borrowed them from a much larger tramp). Anyway there could be a number of explanations....1. Washing machine hates Christmas and gets nasty.... 2. Washing machine didn't get a Christmas present, so getting revenge....3. Washing machine at end of life and has to go. So this is my dilemma do I buy new washing machine or buy new Jeans, I have worked out I could have 3 new pairs for the same price!!

Another day in the frozen west is cheered up by the arrival of the new Armani collection..... hurrah! We now have jeans that go up to a size 16 for girls with bottoms to be proud of.

Leamington Spa Grand Opening

Forgot to mention it earlier but we are looking forward to the official opening of the new Leamington Spa store on Thursday February 11th 2010 at 5.30 pm. Invitations will be sent out soon. There will be a Valentines theme, mini makovers will be provided by Space NK and the proceeds from numerous fund rasing ideas will go to Breakthrough Cancer.

Weather Provides a Fashion Challenge

So this is how it works ! Moi starts to receive wonderful Spring and Summer stock and we get six inches of snow. Its hard to imagine wearing these clothes, despite the fact that they are gorgeous, when only a thin pane of glass separates a Shop Girl from the artic circle. Well at least the white linen blends in with the background!
